Feb 28, 7pm: Shabbat Evening Service led by Aruna Beth Miriam Rose and Mara Cook

Guest service leaders Aruna Beth Miriam Rose and Mara cook will be offering Shabbat Evening and Morning Services that provide contemporary and traditional melodies and prayers: "Jewish Songs of the Spirit" and meaning to help to create a Sanctuary among us with love, prayer and song... which is especially needed in these difficult times. We hope you will join us in song and community.

Aruna Beth Miriam Rose

A lover of the beauty and the healing power of Jewish music, Aruna Beth Miriam Rose, MA has been singing, performing Folk and Jewish Music for 25+ years.  She loves the combination of the old and new and providing music from the heart with meaning.  Aruna Beth has been a High Holy Day service leader and musician at Ad Olam Synagogue Without Walls (founded by Rabbi Hanan Sills) for many years and has performed at Eugene's Interfaith Services, Unity of the Valley, Temple Beth Israel, multiple local Folk venues and markets, the Oregon Country Fair and private life-cycle events.  She also holds a M.A. in Counseling & Transpersonal Psychology from John F. Kennedy University and B.A. in Philosophy from San Francisco State University.  She is also a lover of nature, avid hiker and distance swimmer.

 

Mara Cook

Mara Cook (B.A. Cultural Anthropology) is Director of Youth Education and Teacher and Rabbinic Intern at Temple Beth Sholom in Salem, OR and a folk musician and artist.  She has also participated/ provided music support in Ad Olam High Holiday Services since 2022.
